About Us
Brent Larson
Brent Larson, founder and President, first started Hi-Land Hay as a sole proprietorship in 1992, then incorporated in 1996. Brent began his career in agriculture as an alfalfa hay producer, broker and cattle rancher. Due to health complications which prevented him from working the ranch, he retired from the farming/ranching operation and started his full-time hay brokerage company in 1992.
Since that time, he has continually worked to develop relationships with a large network of hay producers and dairymen, built upon the reliability of his word. He has become known throughout both communities as a "straight shooter." Brent and his wife of 43 years, Virginia, can usually be found travelling among their hay producers and dairies in their fifth wheel trailer--quite a difference from the "equipment" Brent used during his farming years!
Virginia Larson
Virginia Larson, co-founder and corporate secretary, has worked along side Brent during their farming and ranching years, but also worked in an administrative assistant capacity for various government agencies. Until recently, she had maintained all the accounts payable and accounts receivables for Hi-Land Hay. However, as the company expanded, Virginia & Brent enlisted the help of their daughters to handle the additional work. Virginia envisions her role lessening in the day to day operations of the company, allowing her to travel more with Brent and pursuing other semi-retirement interests.
Jamie Larson
Jame Larson, Logistics, came on board Hi-Land Hay in 1995. With a 10-year background in customer service and finance, the move to logistics was a natural fit. She quickly built an excellet repoire with the many freight company dispachers and drivers used by Hi-Land Hay. Her dedication to her job and the business relationships she has developed has helped tremendously in our company's expansion endeavors.
Angela Larson
Angela is the newest member of our team. Her background is in law and finance. She was the managing paralegal for several large law firms in the Salt Lake valley for over 13 years. However, growing up an a farm made it easy for her to take this opportunity to work with Hiland Hay and experience a little bit of the country life again. She is excited to be a part of the company and eager to work with our clients and staff to make Hiland Hay the most efficient and successful hay brokerage in the west. Her high energy makes it fun to work with her and her vast work experience will benefit us all.
